Elementary Music Classes K3-6th: All students in grades K3-6th participate in the Elementary Music Program. Each grade has one music class per week. This is a graded course with curriculum (text and workbook) that is incorporated into the teaching week. We use the Bob Jones University Press Music curriculum. The goal of the Elementary Music Program is to introduce and grow the students in basic music study and appreciation, so that they will use the gift of music to bring glory to God. The Elementary Music Program is mostly instructional with a strong emphasis on hands-on musical participation. Performance opportunities will be available for each grade through the Christmas Program and Spring Program.

Junior High Choruses 7-8th: All junior high students in grades 7 - 8 participate in the Junior High Music Program. The purpose of this program is to glorify God using the wonderful gift of song. This program entails a transitional phase in the Fresta Valley music program, in that it bridges the gap from the elementary curriculum, which focuses more on instruction, to the high school goal of more performance-based activity. Therefore, the Junior High music classes will consist of a mix of music study and performance, with more emphasis given to performance preparation than in elementary. Boys and girls will meet separately for regular classes, 2 hours per week each. Scheduled performances will include the Christmas Concert and the Spring Concert, with additional opportunities as available.

Senior High Chorus 9-12th: The purpose of the Senior High Chorus is to glorify God using the wonderful gift of song. To reach this goal, we strive to sing with professional discipline, exciting musical expression, and clear communication - especially when communicating Biblical truth. Students will meet for rehearsal 3 hours per week. We teach the basics of singing, such as sight reading, aural skills, music theory, singing in parts, etc. Repertoire will consist of classical, sacred and contemporary selections. Scheduled performances will include the Christmas Concert and the Spring Concert. Additional opportunities will be available for outreach ministry, such as singing in nursing homes, etc. As this program grows, we will increase our opportunities through additional performances and contests.
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
