The Fresta Valley Christian School Preschool uses the A BEKA curriculum for three and four year-olds. It is an all-day program that runs from 8:15 a.m. until 3:05 p.m. Students may be enrolled in a three-day program (Tues., Wed., Thurs.) or the five-day program.
Students in the three-year-old program will learn to recognize the name, sound, and picture for short vowels and consonants. They will also develop language and listening skills as they learn colors, shapes, animals, transportation, community helpers, safety, manners, and much more. They will study number concepts through fifteen and learn to count up to thirty.
Students in the four-year-old class will learn cursive formation of letters, blends, and words, as well as learn how to write their names. The children will recognize the name, sound, and picture of long and short vowels and consonants. By the time the students graduate the K4 program they will be reading sentences and stories with one- and two- vowel words. K4 students will learn to count from 1-100. Both classes will memorize many poems and scripture passages, as well as study Bible stories including Creation, Noah, Daniel, and others.
